How to make a Vlog
Step 1: Acquire a webcam with a microphone or a just a camera.
First things first, get the equipment you need for your vlog, without them, what’s the point on going on to the next step? If you have the money and the time, purchase a good quality camera for optimal shooting.
Step 2: Prepare yourself for your upcoming vlog.
Any unwanted or disturbing objects in the background may affect how people will judge you especially when you’re vlogging in your own room, make sure you’re vlogging in a well lit room, make sure you’re not too close to the camera where the only thing people can see is your face and the background is your hair or the camera isn’t zoom directly in your face, and make sure that no one and/or nothing interrupts you during your vlog, this disbands you from your viewers from watching it any further. Fixing your face and hair is completely optional, you don’t have to look professional and it may seem like it’s scripted.. too scripted.
Step 3: Prepare your vlog content.
Take some time to think about what you’re going to say or do during your vlog. This is very essential; the point of making this vlog is for people to know what’s going on with your life. Skipping this step may lead you to a disastrous video where you spent almost the entire screen time in the video thinking of what to say and/or stuttering out the words you thought of.
Step 4: Record your vlog.
Start vlogging, the best way to start a vlog is to introduce yourself briefly then head on to discussing a part of your life whether it’s about the past or what recently happened. Try to make it interesting by adding drama, making humorous analogies and/or referencing popular celebrities. Just try and be yourself and just let loose. Relax so that you won’t look brain-dead in front of the camera.
Step 5: Proofread your video
Do not upload your video unless you’ve watched it. By proofreading, you can analyze the errors and mistakes you’ve made and identify the parts of the video that is not understandable so that you could change it.
Step 6: Upload your vlog
Easily the easiest step to follow. Go to the video hosting website (Basically any website that lets you upload videos) of your choice, and upload.
Step 7:. Share your vlog to people and friends
Once finished uploading, send links of your video to your friends and in the internet, who knows you might be the next “Shane Dawson” or even better, “Fred”, but don’t let it get to your head. Being popular on the internet is not as easy as it looks.
Advice:
-Do a vlog once a week or regularly to inform your subscribers what’s new.
-At the end of a vlog try asking them a common question about personal affairs or just yes or no questions to give interaction between you and your viewers.
-Don’t try to be needy by asking them to subscribe to you a lot of people (including me) hate that kind of approach.
